Our project is entered into competition for BHP Xplor

Our Prutivka project is entered into competition for BHP Xplor, a six-month group mining acceleration program focused on the development of critical minerals, today launched a global search for its next 2024 cohort. Our motivation is to receive support and be included in the best network of modern technologies for the development of nickel deposits with the production of high-quality by-products. We look for effective solution for the development of a multi-component, high-quality sulfide deposit with a simple structure but not large resources.
This program is for researchers and early-stage startups focused on finding new critical mineral resources needed for the world’s future.
BHP Xplor bhp.com/Xplor is designed to provide selected participants with the opportunity to accelerate the implementation of their exploration concepts and create the potential to establish a long-term partnership with BHP. The program offers participants funding, mentoring and coaching, and connection to BHP’s network of suppliers and service providers. BHP Xplor also gives participants the opportunity to be part of a unique community with other like-minded researchers.
We hope for a good result and keep our fingers crossed!

“Subsoil use in Ukraine. Investment prospects-2023”

Oleksiy Falkovych, Maria Kurylo, representatives of “Geological Service Company GSK” LLC took part in the work of the 8th International Scientific and Practical Conference “Subsoil Use in Ukraine. Investment Prospects”, which is organized by the State Commission on Mineral Reserves of Ukraine. More than 280 specialists participated in the work of the Conference, topical issues of the development of exploration, oil and gas and mining industries of Ukraine were considered (in total, more than 80 reports, which were viewed live by about 550 people). This year, the theme of the conference was expanded to include “Critical raw materials: global prospects for Ukraine”, “Renewable energy sources”, “Hydrogen – future energy prospects”.
As part of the Conference, the Round Table “Urgent Changes to the Classification of Mineral Reserves and Resources of the State Subsurface Fund” and the Workshop “Regulatory, Legal and Methodical Aspects of the Application of Different Classification Systems in Ukraine” were organized.
According to the results of the 8th International Scientific and Practical Conference: “Subsoil use in Ukraine. “Investment Prospects”, a collection of scientific materials of the Conference was created, which this year contains more than 110 theses, several of which were presented with the participation of employees of the Geological Service Company:
• in the section “Investment potential of the mineral and raw material base of Ukraine” presented the report “Prospects of investing in titanium objects of the Korsun-Novomyrhorod pluton” (Olexiy Falkovych, Mariia Kurylo);
• in the section “Methodology and practice of geological and economic assessment of mineral deposits according to different classification systems” report “Industrial importance and efficiency of development of iron ore deposits with insignificant reserves” (Olexiy Falkovych, Mariia Kurylo).
This event became a platform for us to share experiences and ideas, discussions, debates and form new approaches to challenges related to subsoil use.

From vision to the future of Ukraine

On July 12, 2023, representatives of LLC «Nonferrous Metals of Ukraine LLC» and the Geological Service Company took part in the conference «From vision to the future of Ukraine: the beginning of a permanent dialogue between the state and business». The opening of the conference took place with the speeches of the Deputy Prime Minister for Reconstruction O. Kubrakov and representatives of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

The purpose of the event is to implement close cooperation between the Government and the business community for the effective post-war recovery of Ukraine.

The priority directions of the development of the field of subsoil use were discussed at the panel discussion «Development of industry, “green metallurgy” and the industry of critical materials».

The development and prospects of the mining and processing industry were presented by the Head of the State Geological Survey of Ukraine, Roman Opimakh, who noted that the national idea of the industry is to integrate Ukraine into the global value chains of critical minerals and reduce import dependence of strategic sectors of the economy.

In our direction, the following groups of minerals are distinguished, which are a priority for the Government and business:

Raw materials for high-tech production, which involves the development of minerals, which will contribute to the integration into high-tech production cycles and the “transition to green energy” – Ti, Zr, Li, Ni, Be, REE (rare earth elements), graphite.

Raw materials for import substitution – the supply of which is related to issues of national security of the state, its existing socio-economic system: hydrocarbons, uranium, flux limestone, potassium salts, apatite.

The Ministry of Economy, together with Ukrainian business, associations and experts, will create more than 10 sectoral working groups to develop specific high-level sectoral proposals that will form the basis of the Plan of Ukraine for the Ukrainian Mechanism (UF).

Our company thanks for the opportunity to join the professional dialogue for the development and reconstruction in the field of subsoil use.

The conference was held in the “Parkovy” congress and exhibition center with the support of USAID, UKAID and the Office of the President of Ukraine.

LLC NONFERROUS METALS OF UKRAINE has joined the network of the European Raw Materials Alliance – ERMA

The European Raw Materials Alliance (https://erma.eu/) was established in 2020 as part of the EU Critical Raw Materials Action Plan and the publication of the EU Critical Raw Materials List 2020. The main goal of ERMA is to reduce the dependence of European consumers of mineral resources on third countries, to diversify supplies from both primary and secondary sources and to improve resource efficiency.
The ERMA network includes hundreds of geological, mining, consulting companies and partners specializing in the extraction, processing and use of critical minerals.
Participation in the activities of the European Raw Materials Alliance gives us the opportunity to expand cooperation with European geological and mining companies, laboratories and universities that are partners of the Alliance.
