Geology and mineralization
he Prutivka Project is located in the northwestern part of the Ukrainian shield within the Buky basic-ultrabasic massif framing.
Sulfide copper-nickel mineralization is confined to the endo-exocontact of the Prutivka gabro-dolerite intrusion, which has sill-like shape and is located among the plagiomigmatites and gneisses. The Prutivka intrusion is one of the most studied and promising for sulfide copper-nickel mineralization among a number of similar intrusions in this geological region.
Sulfide mineralization is represented by pyrrhotite, pentlandite, chalcopyrite, less makinavite, pyrite, cubanite, and violarite. Sulfides are rather unevenly distributed within the mineralized zone. Morphologically, sulfides form several interconnected types of segregations: dissipated fine interstitial dissemination, nest-like large aggregate segregations of round and irregular shape, veinlets and separate areas of massive ores.
